Peace
Chaos.
Disorder.
Commotion. Everything upside down. It’s like gentle quietness can’t last. Calmness hardly gets started before something interrupts.
I visited the mountains as a child. The air was crisp, pure, cold even in summer. We drove to some alpine meadow and ate a picnic lunch in the sunshine. Everything seemed different there, somehow. The peacefulness was spellbinding.
Peace is really a state of mind. I’ve felt it in the middle of heartbreak and turmoil. I’ve missed it in the most quiet moments. Times that should have been peaceful weren’t, because of how I felt inside.
Do you have peace? Do you know what it’s like to be calm no matter what happens? To grasp that conscious sense that all is under control despite the evidence?
Sometimes I look around at the harried rushing craziness of humanity flowing around me. And I wonder – where is the peace in all of this? Where is the soul in it?
What would my world be like if I embraced a little more peace, and let go of a little bedlam?
And your world? Would it change yours?
